Prague is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and is one of the most visited cities on the continent. Prague is known as the “Golden City” for it’s beauty filled with color and elegance.
Since 1992, the historic center of Prague has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage. In 1993, Prague was declared the capital of Czech Republic.
Prague Castle is the largest ancient castle in the world (570m long, on average 128m wide, with an area of 7.28 hectares).
Even with Wenceslas Square, Charles Bridge, Josefov (old jewish quarter) and the Town Hall Tower with the astronomical Clock, the Castle belongs to the most popular sights in Prague.
Beside of all the sights, Prague is also well known for the good czech (and bohemian) cuisine and beer.
Their shopping is superb. Garnetts and Amber are a very popular stone that is found there. You can buy them really inexpensively by paying with cash and negotiang the price.
Make sure when you first enter the city, you don’t get struck by the communistical part of the city. Prague used to be communist and sometimes you need to be prepared to see that.
