Prague is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and is among the most visited cities on the continent. Since 1992, the extensive historic centre of Prague has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.

About Prague

Prague covers an area of 191.5 sq. miles (496 square Km) and is estimated to have a population of 1.9 million people being the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic. Prague has been the political, cultural, and economic center of the Czech state for over 1100 years.

Museum Of Communism

Museum Of CommunismThe Museum of Communism is the primary attraction of its kind in Prague, leading visitors through the life of the Czech people during the times of the Soviet Union. Fine displays include original artefacts from the communist era, including pictures, reading materials, military objects and even a reconstructed school classroom. Visitors will gain a good understanding of the way things were during the communist era; the propaganda, and the good and bad times experienced by the Czech people.

A projection room provides a space for regular film screenings, educational activities and occasional lectures. The exhibition has been meticulously compiled from the Museum’s comprehensive archive, and combined with a wealth of material obtained from other major collections. With so many old communist sights now removed from the Prague streets, the Museum of Communism stands as an authoritative historical narrative of this 20th century phenomenon.
